My Fragrance Journey: From Toxic to Truly Clean
Back in high school, my signature scent was Poison. Little did I know, it was literally poisoning me. Years later, I stopped wearing perfume—not because I knew better, but because it gave my husband headaches. Still, I didn't think twice about using all the things from Bath & Body Works. My daughters and I would even line up for their Black Friday sales, stocking up on lotions, sprays, and candles.
At the time, I was in a constant state of poor health. I suffered from allergies, got sick multiple times a year, and assumed it was just normal. It was common, but it was far from normal.
Eight years ago, I started removing toxins from our home. That’s when I discovered the dark truth about “fragrance.” It’s an industry loophole that allows companies to hide over 3,000 chemicals—many of which are carcinogens and endocrine disruptors. I replaced everything—cleaners, personal care products, air fresheners—with truly clean alternatives. And guess what? My allergy problems disappeared.
